Haelixa’s founder, Gediminas Mikutis, highlighted in a recent interview with BusinessGreen why physical proof is becoming essential as regulatory scrutiny intensifies and circular business models expand.
With the growth of resale markets and increasing transparency requirements, brands are under pressure to demonstrate the authenticity and origin of their materials with greater certainty. Haelixa addresses this need by embedding invisible, plant based DNA markers directly into textile fibres. This technology creates intrinsic proof of origin, recycled content, and authenticity that remains with the material throughout its entire lifecycle, from manufacturing and use to resale and recycling. Unlike labels, certificates, or database records, the marker cannot be separated from the product it verifies.
By linking physical evidence to digital traceability systems, this approach enables brands to substantiate their claims with forensic certainty rather than relying on documentation alone. As Digital Product Passports and green claims regulations continue to emerge, verifiable proof embedded within the product itself is expected to play a central role in building trust and ensuring compliance.
